The Transplant Games of America is a festival-style event that includes medaling competitions, which are open to transplant recipients (organ, corneal, tissue & bone marrow) and living donors for competitor participation.

All competitors must be medically approved by their physician to compete. There are two divisions of competitors. Division I consists of solid organ recipients, and Division II consists of living donors, corneal, tissue, and bone marrow recipients. Recipients must have been transplanted for at least nine months, with stable graft function, be medically fit and have trained at the events in which they have registered. There are some sport restrictions for Division II athletes and interested candidates should refer to each specific sport for clarification. International athletes are welcome to compete but will earn duplicate medals in an international division.
