COVID-19 Virus Statement
To the Donation and Transplant Community
The COVID-19 Virus is a global health concern that has gained everyone’s attention and our transplant community is particularly sensitive to the media reports and the information that have been forthcoming. We understand your concerns and, on a daily basis, are monitoring state and federal agencies, along with guidance from our own medical experts to stay informed on the situation.
As is always the case, the health and well-being of our donation and transplant family is our number one priority, and decisions that could impact that will be made with careful and thoughtful consideration. Based on current information, there are no plans to cancel or suspend the 2020 Transplant Games, which are scheduled for July 17-22, 2020.
We are a unique community. Many of us have faced life and death issues and some face real and long-lasting health problems. We are not prone to panic and if there was ever a situation that called for calm and sound thinking, this is one of them. Take care of yourself and your loved ones. Follow the advice of your physicians and we’ll all get through this.
See you in July!
