On June 18, 2026, the Transplant Games kicked off in Denver with a powerful showcase of strength, endurance, and tribute: The 2026 Transplant Games Murph. Designed to honor the sacrifice of Navy SEAL Lt. Michael P. Murphy and commemorate donor heroes, this event brought together living donors, transplant recipients, and supporters to demonstrate the extraordinary power of second chances and renewed health.
The 2026 event unfolded in two dynamic parts—beginning with the Heavy Murph Showcase, where 16 elite Donor Games athletes took the stage to set the bar, followed by the Community Murph, where attendees of all fitness levels joined in the action. The Murph has officially become an unforgettable Transplant Games tradition, and one we are proud to continue for years to come!
The Heavy Murph Showcase
Sixteen elite Donor Games athletes took center stage on opening day in Denver before a record-breaking crowd, demonstrating that organ donation does not hinder human performance. Competing in a relentless 20-minute test of rope climbs, heavy dumbbell shoulder presses, split squats, and sit-ups, these kidney and liver donors, along with transplant recipients, completely dispelled the myth that donation limits long-term physical health.
The Community Murph
Following the showcase, the arena opened up for the Community Murph, bringing together attendees of all fitness levels. Participants took on the iconic workout, a 1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 air squats, and a final 1-mile run, either Rx'd with weight vests, modified with ring rows and bodyweight squats, or side-by-side with a partner.
At its core, this event was never about individual rep counts; it was a celebration of perseverance, community, and gratitude. Living donors and recipients showcased their restored health while honoring deceased donors with every step, push, and cheer.
